Our Process

Initial Contact: This is where you have called MVEC and we determine the best course of action to follow next. Either a scheduled visit, a prompt quote, or an on-site evaluation.

  • Scheduled Visit: We schedule a time to come and complete your project for an agreed upon hourly rate plus materials.
  • Prompt Quote: We provide a quote with the provided information that was acquired either over the phone or by form submission. We then provide the quote to you at which point you have the opportunity to discuss it with our Bid Technician. Once it’s agreed upon, we move to the next step.
  • On-site Evaluation: We determine that an on-site visit is necessary to provide you with the best experience available. We schedule this with you at your earliest convenience. This visit is used to evaluate your needs and wants, and to give our input where we think necessary. Once, the on-site is done we provide you with the best option for your job, either a hard bid contract or Cost Plus contract.

  • Contract Types:

  • Hard Bid Contract: This is a type of contract where we provide a fixed price for a job. Once agreed upon, this is the price we will do that project for. Any additional work outside of the provided scope will be considered a change order and a increase to the total cost of the project shall reflect the additional work.
  • Cost Plus Contract: This is a type of contract where we give a general estimate of cost for your project, but we charge for material and labor as we work towards completion of the contract according to the contract terms. Most of our customers choose this type of contract as it is the most cost-effective for both you and the contractor. The reason for this is you are only paying for what you want done and the contractor doesn’t need to build in a margin of safety into the price like they do for a Hard Bid contract.

You decide upon which contract you would like as described above.

Once a contract is made and a deposit is received by the contractor, we will schedule your project according to both your schedule and the company’s schedule. This phase also takes into account all future needs of the project (i.e. phases). MVEC will send you automated reminders for your project start times.

MVEC will work with all of their suppliers to obtain the best price and quality possible for your project. MVEC will retain control over these supplies until they are installed, and the project is finished. Any lighting fixtures, fans, special devices, or non-typical installation methods are to be obtained by the customer or MVEC with the customer’s direction. We do this for lighting fixtures especially because everyone’s taste is different and we want you to have full control of your design choices. Lighting fixtures with limited choice but common usage such as recessed can lights, motion sensor lights, and closet lighting is usually provided by MVEC.

This is where the rubber meets the road! We will begin your project on the predetermined schedule date. Our electricians will preform the work requested in a professional and safe manner. Depending on the length of the project, we typically provide daily or weekly reports to the customer about the progress of your project. The reports cover work performed, issues that arise, questions to be answered, and any other information relevant. If your project only required a day or so to complete, you will receive a report and overview of work completed and how it functions. Should your project be scheduled for more than one visit, you will receive a report of work completed at the end of each visit. An invoice will be given at the end of each project/phase, and it shall be paid on net 15 terms.

Congratulations! Your project has been completed and you’re one step closer to your dream! Once the agreed upon work is completed, the customer reviews it and make sure it is up to their standards. Once everyone is satisfied, we move to the invoicing and review stage.

MVEC presents the customer with their final invoice. Invoice total will be determined depending on the contract type. All invoices are due on a net 15 term. Which means the payment is due 15 days after being presented with an invoice from MVEC. Once that is all said and done, we humbly ask that you leave a review either on our Google Business page or Facebook page. These reviews help us provide others with the same excellent service you received! All reviews are welcome and encouraged!
